One of the highest honors awarded by the Peruvian government received yesterday the regional president of Huancavelica, Maciste Diaz Abad, in recognition of his tireless fight to eradicate extreme poverty and support the strengthening of democracy and contribute to the decentralization of the regions.
On behalf of President Alan García Pérez, the Environment Minister, José Antonio Brack Egg, was responsible for imposing the badge of the Order of Merit for Distinguished Service "in the Grade of Grand Officer, provided by Supreme Resolution N º 125-2011-RE.
During the massive event developed in the Auditorium of the Ministry of Environment, Brack Egg, noted that Maciste Diaz Abad is an outstanding public servant who has collective goals and the "distinction is given to people whose interest work goes beyond the daily work, "he said.
In turn, Diaz Abad, said that during his tenure Huancavelica cease to be the poorest region of the country because it has vast agricultural resources, mining and tourism that the world should know, also stressed that one of the achievements so far of its management is the record of zero maternal deaths, a fact which he described as a miracle.
"We hope things go well and so far, all are invited to participate in this development project that aims to improve the lives of every resident," said the president Huancavelica.
